Hello world my Name is Chris Adlam.

this is the  chart positions from 1960-2006  Go Now for the Moody Blues no.1 1964

no.1 for nights in White Satin no.1 1968 sung by Justin Haywood and the  Moody Blues. ALSO NIGHTS IN WHITE  SATIN BY THE MOODY BLUES WAS RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 1979 here in the UK

Tie a yellow Ribbon round the old oak Tree sung by Tony Orlando and Dawn. uk no.1 1973.

Australian no.1 for Aussie pop Band Sherbert 1976 the the single How’s That. in Austrlalia

no.4 single for Rick Dees And His Cast of Idiots  single “Disco Duck” in the UK the  hit the Australian pop Charts in 1977 but Disco Duck released in the uk Charts in the year 1976.

Shandi single for the Amercian Rock Band Kiss went to no.1 in Australia in september 1980.

No.1 single for Aussie  Pop/Rock Band  Australian Crawl. with their single “The Boys Light Up” in 1980.

Australian chart Joe Dolce’s single “Shut Up Your Face” was no.1 in Australia 1981.

NO.1 for the pop band Split-Enz with the single six months in A Leaky Boat year 1982.

I Can remember the single Shy Boy sung by  Bananarama in October 1982 in Australia.

1981 saw the Single “Down Under performed by Australian pop band Men At Work in Australia.

ALso I can remember the Londoner Cockney Singer Monti with the single “Shoop Shoop What What Cum Cuma  Wang Dang. in October 1982(Australia)

Uptown Girl no.1 performed by Billy Joel  in Australia and the uk Charts.

the most Longest Australian Chart Album is Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf  stayed in the Aussie Chart for 7 years from 1977-1984.

In 1983 Aussie Pop Band Men At Work performed their single “Down Under” on Top of The Pops in the Uk September 1983 at no.1 Highest Chart position.

In the Uk Charts Wham had plenty of no.1’s 1984 saw the single for them with the single Carless Whisper and Freedom.

1985 A different Corner stayed no.1 for Wham for two to four weeks.

(1986 no.1 for Chain Reaction Sung by Diana Ross)

 PetShop Boys Single went to no.1 with the single WestEnd Girls.

STanRidgeway single Camoflarge charted at no.1 1986.

F.L.M. fun Love and Money was no.1 foe Mel and Kim 1987 uk and Australia.

1988 saw the single from the film Buster Groovy Kind Of Love sung by Phil Collins no.1 in the UK and Australian Charts.

1989 saw seven weeks for Madonna’s single Like A prayer in Australia.

1990 saw the Uk/American R and B Soul single Groove is in the Heart for Deee-Lite.

1991 saw the biggest single of that year Bryan Adam’s single “Everthing I Do I’ll do it For You” went to no.1  in Australia for 11 weeks there and also 16 in the UK Music Charts.

The Longest  Simply Red Album Stars stayed no.1 in Australia for about 6 months in 1991.

1994 saw the Scottish Soul Band Wet Wet Wet with the single Love is all around no.1 for 15 weeks at no.1 in the uk. from that great film FOur Weddings and a Funeral.

1995 saw the end of Take That Boy Band finishing in 1996.

Wannabe single for the uk girl group Spice Girls stayed at no.1 for 4 weeks in 1996.

also in 1996 George Michael’s single Fast Love.

1998 single Believe for the American Female Singer Cher went to no.1 for 7 weeks in 1998.

2000 saw the releases of Two Tribes and The  (Power of Love Club MIxes for Frankie Goes To HollWood. highest chart Position both singles at no.1).

2005 saw the single Is This the Way To Amarillo stay at no.1 for 7 weeks for British Singer Tony Christie.

2006 saw the single Crazy stayed at no.1 for 9 weeks this year by the artist Gnarls Berkley in the uk. Charts.

I’m writing this information that I know from my memory.

  1. Hi Chris. Checked out your blog. It was fantastic.
    Think you might have your wires crossed on the Moody Blues though. The Nights in White Satin Album may have out later than you mentioned. The Moody Blues did have a no.1 hit in 1964, and I understand it sold 6 million copies, and that was a bucket load of singles in those days. It was “Go now” and had an R and B feel about it. Like your work Chris.
